3 card poker or trio poker is a poker-based game that is played in many American casinos. It actually consists of two separate games, pairplus and ante-and-play. The players can choose to play one or both of the games. This game is easy to play and learn Card Poker (or trio poker as it’s also called) is an American version of a British game called Brag. This game originated over three hundred years ago as a game known as Primero, a fast-moving betting game using only three cards. As the game evolved, it became known as Post-and-Pair and then again as Brag. This game made it to the States as Casino Brag and Brit-Brag, but eventually evolved again into the game we now know as 3 Card Poker. Poker actually encompasses a wide variety of games, from 5 Card Stud and Heinz 57 to Texas Hold ‘em, Three Legged Race and of course, 3 Card Poker. Each game has its own unique rules and strategies, but are all based on the ancient ranking system and that much-coveted ability to bluff. In the past, bluffing could be achieved through a combination of playing actions – such as raising your bet - along with body language, leading your opponents to believe you had a winning hand when you really had nothing at all. The birth of the online casino removed the body language aspect, making it even harder to bluff your way through a game.
In 3 Card Poker, this bluffing technique is removed completely as you’ll soon see, making it all the more important to have a solid strategy when you sit down to play. But even with the best strategy, you can’t win all the time whether you’re playing at a land based casino or an online alternative. There are then, a few tips that will help you get the most enjoyment from your play without spending your life’s savings in the process. Some of the tips found in an article on Three Card Poker Secrets state: • Take advantage of bonuses. Some online casinos offer bonuses to new players. Take advantage of this and spend less of your own money. • Pick your game wisely. Know the stakes and evaluate the play. • Use other players to your advantage, watch how they play to pick up on the likelihood of a strong or week dealer hand. |
